Two Estates Are in Escrow

Can't believe it's been almost 1-1/2 years since I've posted on this blog.  Well, considering it's been 30+ years since I was working on the show, I guess it's not surprising.

I ran into a realtor friend yesterday who told me that both the "Marks Estate" (pilot for Magnum and frequent film location including the King Kamehameha Club) as well as the Eve Glover Anderson Estate have been sold and are both in escrow.  I don't know who bought them or what the final selling price was or what the new owners are planning to do with them.  If any of you find out, please feel free to add a comment here.  If I hear of anything, I will post it.

As for me, I just finished a Chinese movie on Friday as the Production Designer called "Pali Road" (previously called "Life Unknown").

FYI, Tom Selleck is now 70 and John Hillerman is 83.  I'm still 36.

Good to hear from you Rick. Been wondering what you were up to Was the project you just finished filmed on Oahu?

I saw that the Pahonu estate was for sale, and the price dropped substantially, but did not know it was sold. I hope it is in good hands.

I need to go through your old blog posts because I am trying to find out just how big the crew was for Magnum. It appears to be smaller than I would have imagined. Anyway, you did a great job on the show and I thank you for creating such a fun piece of TV history for future generations to enjoy.

Hi Rick - nice to hear from you again! Thanks for the update. I hope the new owners of the Anderson estate are a nice as Eve. She spoke with my son and me when we were on the beach, about 12 years ago. Very nice lady!

Its a shame that 'Robins Nest' sold. I had begun to start aggressively saving all of my nickels and dimes and pop cans in order to buy it. Oh well, next lifetime I suppose! Thanks for the update dude!

I just wanted to let you know that I came across your blog and really enjoy it. It goes without saying I was a huge Magnum P.I. fan and was hoping the original cast could have done a made for TV movies like they did with The Rockford Files in the 1990's. There is a blog I enjoy as well on that show. My hopes of James Garner never happened but I know it would have been a great episode as was the two episodes Tom Selleck appeared on with Mr Garner. Thanks for the blog. I hope you will update from time to time now that i found it and enjoy it. Thanks. Brian

It's always a mystery when there are people who purchase a new home and you're waiting for what seems like forever to find out what they will do with the estate. This isn't just one home that has been purchased but two, so it will be interesting to see what the owners want to do with the houses that they just bought.
